Lead Risk Assessments in Louisville, KY

Know exactly where your property stands on lead.

A lead risk assessment finds lead hazards in a property, such as deteriorated lead paint and lead dust, and tells you what to do about them. Ours are performed by Kentucky-certified Lead Risk Assessors for Louisville rental owners, property managers, and investors.

Every assessment includes

  1. Visual inspection of the grounds, exterior, and interior
  2. Dust wipe samples from floors and window sills
  3. Analysis by an EPA-certified lab
  4. A written report with clear next steps
When You Need One

The situations that call for an assessment.

Louisville no longer requires every pre-1978 rental to be tested on a fixed schedule. Owners still need a certified assessment in specific situations, and many test proactively to protect tenants and document their property's condition.

Common reasons Louisville owners call us

  • A lead notice from Codes & Regulations (30 days to respond)
  • A tenant's child has an elevated blood lead level
  • A complaint or code inspection found signs of lead hazards
  • A HUD-assisted or Section 8 unit
  • Buying a pre-1978 property
  • Peace of mind before renovating or re-leasing
Inspection vs. Risk Assessment

Two different questions.

A lead inspection answers "Is there lead-based paint, and where?" surface by surface.

A lead risk assessment answers "Are there lead hazards right now, and what should I do about them?" It looks at the condition of paint, dust, and the property as a whole.
